Located in Downtown Detroit
Located in the heart of Downtown Detroit, Greektown Casino-Hotel is the place to stay for fun, entertainment and excitement. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a game of slots, eat a good meal and have a meeting with like-minded people, ranging from business travelers to couples looking for a weekend getaway.
Guests can enjoy nearly 3,000 slots and video poker machines ranging from penny slots to $100 games, including progressives and classics like Blazing 7s and Buffalo. You can also play a variety of table games, including blackjack, roulette and poker.
The casino offers a wide range of promotions that give you chances to win cash, Bonu$ Play and prizes. It also has a membership program called GT|Rewards that lets you earn rewards with every gaming session.
The casino also has a mobile app that works in tandem with the GT|Rewards program. It allows you to use a virtual players card on your mobile device, which is especially useful at slot machines or table games where you would normally have to insert a traditional card. The app is free to download and can be used anywhere on the property that you’d be able to use a traditional players card. It’s a good idea to sign up for the app before your visit because it gives you access to special bonuses and tier points.
GT
Penn National Gaming announced today that it plans to rename Greektown Casino-Hotel and its 400-room hotel in Detroit as Hollywood Casino at Greektown on Sunday, May 1. The property is expected to undergo several changes and additions to its look, feel and experience.
The casino offers 3,000 slots and video poker machines, including classics like Blazing 7s, Buffalo and Super Jackpot Party as well as progressive jackpot games such as Buffalo Grand and Lightning Link. Table game options include roulette, baccarat and blackjack.
Hollywood Casino at Greektown also has a private High Limit Gaming Area with over 90 high-limit slots and dozens of table games, including roulette, baccarat and a salon with six blackjack tables. The casino also offers its unique PULSE Table Games, an electronic table game experience that combines live dealer games with advanced interconnected game tables.
The Greektown Casino-Hotel also offers a GT|Rewards loyalty program that blends a traditional casino rewards program with the Greektown Casino mobile app. The program will transition to Penn National Gaming’s mychoice loyalty program in 2020. The new program will allow you to connect slot machines and table games with your phone through a cashless, cardless feature called mywallet. This allows you to add funds, collect winnings, ear tier points and more using your smartphone.
Rewards
As Detroit’s three non-tribal casinos (MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino Hotel and Greektown Casino-Hotel) compete for gaming dollars, they also offer rewards programs designed to promote loyalty. These can include free meals, hotel stays, slot and table game credits, gift shop discounts, exclusive clothing, prime tickets to shows and local sporting events, cruises, trips to Las Vegas, cars and even private batting practice at Comerica Park.
Greektown Casino-Hotel opened in 2000 in the city’s historic Greektown district, in a building that had originally housed a fur trapper’s processing center. It was operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, which held a majority interest in the property.
Guests can play 3,000 slots and table games on the casino floor, which includes the popular Bistro 555 buffet. The casino also offers live sports betting, a 12-table smoke-free poker room and a Baccarat Room on the third floor of the High Limit area.
The casino recently unveiled a $30 million redesign of its guest rooms, including a new lobby. In addition, it has spent $1 million on improvements to its self-park and VIP garages. It has also added a cashless/cardless feature called “mywallet” to its mobile mychoice rewards program app, which allows guests to add funds, collect winnings and earn tier points through their phones.
